This post is a combination of an apology and an admission. I have been blogging about cricket since 2005, this is the 6th year running, and I might have written more than 500 posts or so. Hell, Paddle Sweep is more than two years old now. It’s been a long time in this arena. What am I doing?
When I was younger, I thought being a well known cricket blogger could open a lot of doors for me.I could meet cricketers, attend games for free, and heck what not. None of that has happened yet. The reason – lack of trying. The absence of a will to push myself. So much so, that even if I have a platform like Paddle Sweep, the results are nowhere to be seen. I am not going anywhere. All the talent I invested in has turned to ash. I am bewildered, and distantly amused by my fallacies.
This would normally be the part where I make promises to make this blog a better place to hang out, but this time I differ. No promises. And yes, no regrets. On that note, I claim to have successfully summed up India’s performance today at Dambulla.
And yes, since I had not said this earlier – “Randiv, no offence, really, but I hear you are an expert at ‘no-balls’. What does that say about you?
