News of the World are reporting that Pakistan have been involved in match-fixing. Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif delivered three blatant no-balls to order, apparently and this just the tip of the iceberg, apparently.
The story is breaking all over the news, this right after I complimented Test cricket so much. Hell, I even complimented Pakistan. I actually feel like I’ve just been broken up with. Heart beating, stomach turning, sweaty palms. I’m such a fucking girl. I need a hug.
Let’s look at it rationally, though. If the allegations are true and it only goes as far as the no ball issue then Pakistan cricket are in trouble. There is a difference between throwing a few balls and actually tweaking the outcome of the game.
However, fixing cricket in any way, shape or form is wrong and this game should not be allowed to continue. I really feel for Aamer, he is so young and so talented and if allegations are true, his career has been ruined. He had huge potential.
I also feel sorry for Jonathan Trott and Stuart Broad, being on the other side of the fence a lot will be said about their match-saving knocks. It will almost be as if it doesn’t count. I’m going to try not sleep for as long as I can and update as it goes along…
Salman Butt, Mohammed Amir,Kumar Akmal and Mohammed Asif are all allegedly involve din match fixing.

I don’t know how people think spot-fixing doesn’t influence results. Every incident in a game has an effect on the outcome so orchestrating even one has the potential to change things. The only good that can come out of it is the people involved provide evidence against others who are also involved.

Whoops, I think you misunderstood. I’m merely saying that currently it does not look like the ‘threw the game or result for betting/fixing purposes’.
Totally agree that spot-fixing can have an impact on the result. IE: if Trott were bowled off a no ball, etc, etc.
That match-fixing or spot-fixing or whatever may influence results is bad enough. But what I think is even worse is the fact that the supporter’s faith and love for the team is rubbed in the mud. I wouldn’t want to support a team that is only concerned with filling it’s own pocket, a team without integrity I don’t need.
I still hope the investigation’s results prove the players involved were threatened so it will lessen the disgust for what they did, but I can’t help feeling cheated all the same.
