Cricket at Lords, boring to say the least…

Now this was not on my wishlist. England had come out of almost nowhere and drawn the first test at beer hungry wales. Monty and Anderson were heroes. The Poms were supposed to carry that momentum (the no 10 and no 11 batting success momentum, that is) to over here and thrash the nuts out of the whiners.

What transpired today (Day 1) was nothing short of unexpected. Monty Panesar was dropped. Swann was not picked. Onions was picked instead. Greame Onions is a Munafesque bowler. He will put it there and the Aussies will defend. The whiners meanwhile went with an unchanged squad.

The English elected to bat first and just as they were about to begin their collapse, Mitchell Johnson intervened and gave them a taste of the worst bowling possible from a round arm bowler who was once a slinger. Strauss and co were confused. Do they continue with their plan of collapsing or do they milk the bowling?

They decided on the latter as there were a few barmy fans at stake. Barmy, but fans nonetheless.

The second session ended with England at 255/2. Strauss had already completed his century and Cook played brilliantly (against shit bowling) for 95 off 147 balls.

BTW Johnson has gone for seven an over.

He thinks he is some superhero or something that he can change his action at will and still blow bowl well. Or maybe he forgot about the slope at lords.

Enough for now, and about MSD, nothing in this post.
