Not that Matthew Prior. A 13-year-old boy a private school in the Lowveld in South Africa died on Thursday afternoon after he was hit in the chest by a cricket ball.
While he was batting, he was hit in the chest by a full toss, collapsed and was rushed to hospital. They reckon that the speed with which the ball hit him had broken one of his ribs, the broken rib then punctured his lung.
This is incredibly sad, cricket is definitely not for sissies.
RIP young star, the cricket community salutes you.
Big sympathies to everyone who knew the young boy, hugs to your parents and your friends.

Well I thought it was the Pom’s Matthew Prior when I read the tweet, but when I rushed to Cricinfo there was no breaking news of the kind. But it’s very sad anyway, poor little kid. Feel sad for his parents and all.

I am so lucky to be alive. I got hit with a cricket ball yesterday in my chest when fielding. The batsmen struck it flat to me with power, it hit my chest and i caught it.
