…against a remarkably average Chennai.
I must admit, after Friday I was concerned. I thought Chennai were a pretty good team. Having the captain of India in your side probably adds to your intimidation level. I was worried nonetheless.
But Deccan managed to find their balance as the batsmen sparked and the bowlers followed up. Adam Gilchrist (38), Herchelle Gibbs (45) and Andrew Symonds (50) all contributed to help guide Deccan Chargers to a competitive 190 for six. They converted their good start and they made it count.
Then the bowlers did their bid as Chaminda Vaas bagged a three for and Symmo and Pragyan Ojha (<3) both chipped in with two scalps a piece. They looked balanced, composed and like they could take on any side. Well played.
KKR are looking scary. They look a different side to who they were in the last two season. Let’s see if it’ll last. There are about 1370 86222 games remaining. It’s a long way…

I dearly loved Gilchrist’s vocal pyrotechnics – roaring approval at his fielders and a joyous shout at Symonds of “you crafty bastard” after a sneaky delivery.
Totally. I don’t, however, like Symmo’s celebration. Or the way he looks for that matter (that little finger wag thingy he did after he got a wicket, eurgh!) . Still not quite sure how I came to support a side with two Aussies in.
Great victory…i was watching the match with a couple of my friends at BIG cinemas (mumbai)..they went crazy! haha it was fun
Mspr1nt – you know you love us Aussies, really! And yes, Deccan are looking sweet.
