Dirty little girl, Shilpa vs girl next door Preity

You know it’s been a good day when you are arguing with a random bloke you have never met about which Bollywood star is hotter. While we would all love to oil these ladies up and put them in the cage so that they can battle it out for our amusement, this is the internet and we have our own battles. David Green from The Reverse Sweep reckons Shilpa Shetty is the bee’s knees. I say, no.

Thus, I present to you: in the blue corner, Preity Zinta and, in the red corner, Shilpa Shetty.

Round 1:

Both ladies own an IPL team, the one is shitter than the other one and the one is overflowing with Australians but has some silverware. Choosing a winner for round one is almost impossible but Preity edges it since she gets way more involved when watching the game. She actually looks like she is enjoying it and that she might say to Sangakarra: Look dude, if you win, then you can take me on a date. Shilpa, on the other hand, looks more brain dead and disinterested than a catholic priest in an old age home.

Round 2

The brain barrage. While the common consensus might be that these are both silly, silly dumb woman because nobody can be pretty AND have brains, this is not true. In fact, they are both fairy smart. Preity writes columns for BBC Asia while Shilpa has mafia links. Well, actually, her parents were linked to the Indian underworld so she might still be dumb. Preity wins, only because she writes and we bloggers, we’re mad tight like that, yo.

Naughty, naughty. Shilp is pretty much the Paris Hilton of Bollywood. Well, not qiute. But they do kind of look similar and act in a similar way. If Shilpa was born in Hollywood, she would be Paris Hilton. In 2003 Ms. Buttercup had a Madurai  court issue non-bailable warrants against Shetty and a pal  for “posing in an obscene manner” in photographs published by a Tamil newspaper. Silly girl. This while Preity was busy doing charity work.

Round 4

Take me to your momma. Well, don’t take Shilpa. Especially not if your mother is British. She’ll mock her just like she mocked her Big Brother housemate’s mother’s accent. Silly girl. Preity, on the other hand, well, she is a perfectly sweet lady.

Round 5

I kissed a girl and I liked it. Well, Richard Gere did anyway. Seveal times, in fact. It was just on the cheek, though but it was during an AIDS-awareness event.  The pair were appearing at a press conference in New Delhi as part of a campaign to preach safe sex to truck drivers in India and promote AIDS  awareness. Apparently it was all in jest but the conservatives freaked. Shilpa responded by saying: “”I understand this (kissing) is his (Gere’s) culture, not ours. But this was not such a big thing or so obscene for people to overreact in such a manner. I understand people’s sentiments, but I do not want a foreigner to take bad memories from here.”
