World’s best batsman injured!

Zaheer, Sehwag, and now Gambhir. This is one heck of a paid leave our cricketers are enjoying. All ‘work’ and no ‘play’ makes you a stupid person. No one seems to take that seriously though, with people queuing up to be a part of the injured gang.

Virat Kohli has been named as a replacement, more on grounds of ‘let the person who was dropped first get selected first’ than ‘let the best man be the replacement.’ Yes, I am referring to Rohit Sharma.

India take on The Crack Caps tomorrow, in their first game of the most unnecessary series played in the most uninteresting format of cricket.

In another seriously crappy piece of news, Dinesh Kartik has been officially announced as the second opener, partnering the elixir himself, Sachin Tendulkar. Must have been the default choice, given the absence of Rohit Sharma, who too, by the way, sucked in the T20s and in the Carribean as the opener.

Teams for tomorrow:

India: (probable) 1 Dinesh Karthik, 2 Sachin Tendulkar, 3 Rahul Dravid, 4 Suresh Raina, 5 Yuvraj Singh, 6 MS Dhoni (capt/wk), 7 Yusuf Pathan, 8 Harbhajan Singh, 9 Praveen Kumar, 10 Ishant Sharma, 11 Ashish Nehra.

New Zealand: (probable) 1 Brendon McCullum (wk), 2 Jesse Ryder, 3 Martin Guptill, 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Jacob Oram, 6 Grant Elliot, 7 Daniel Vettori (capt), 8 Nathan McCullum, 9 Ian Butler/Kyle Mills, 10 Daryl Tuffey, 11 Shane Bond.
