In short, Australia is exactly where they were when they left Mohali. Gambhir plundered the ozzies in the final session. His strike rate rose to about 100 in the post tea session from maybe about 32 in the first session. It was a treat to watch, a pie for the eye.
VVS elegantly got his half century. I consider this as the most stylish innings with just 3 fours.
Coming back to the Aussies, I think they don’t want to win any more. They just want to complete this tour and think about the biggest thing in their lives – the ashes. It was all going through the motions type of bowling and fielding. Too probotic I think. Nothing evolutionary. Nothing cutting edge. Nothing Australian. Nothing can help the Aussies now.
Brett Lee was not bad. But if not bad is what he is happy with, then Australia need someone else to slowen up the over rates.
Stuart Clark was economical. Sachin did get on top of him. Never looked like taking wickets.
Midge Johnson was expensive as ever, but looked like skidding and taking wickets. Not too many on offer today though.
Shane Watson needs to calm down.
Cameron White was shit and expensive. Expensive shit should never be on flights to India
Simon Katich was the best bowler. Spin, guile, wrong ’un, he had everything the Indians couldn’t pick, though mishra and kumble, their fingers did lick
