…get them today.
There is a new ticketing system for the South Africa – India series. It’s called Ticketpros and it’s crap.
I think a loftof things are crap, including most ticketing systems, but this takes things to a new level of crap and it has a very high f%*!@ up factor.
When it took them about day to deliver my confirmation email I should have known that things were going to go south, you can’t even buy tickets for all five days in one go! No. You have to buy, individually select each day and purchase. Do you know how tedious it is buying tickets for three days of Test cricket with this system? Probably.
Forget all the admin of actually ordering the tickets, the real gem is the collection of them.
Once you have ordered your tickets you choose where you want to collect your tickets from…
Postnet outlets, mostly. You can have them delivered to you for R75.00, too…but who the hell does that?
Anyway, while taking a nap with an open window to get that under grey skies feeling yesterday, I was rudely awoken by a text message informing me I better collect my tickets before Friday 1pm or else somebody will come hunt me down and kill my dog. No, not really.
They told me I better come collect my tickets or I won’t get to go to the game. The store I ordered my tickets to will be closed, from Friday until 3 January.
Great. What if I wasn’t in Cape Town and I was only returning here on 2 January? How would I have gotten my tickets then?
What’s going to happen to people who haven’t bought tickets for Durban or Cape Town yet and order their tickets to a closed store?
I’d advise if you do order tickets late, check whether the store you are ordering them is open. You know, because I don’t think they actually tell you these things on the website…
Good luck with this one.
