Both @mspr1nt and I have been fuming at the events unfolding over the last 24 hours. Sources tell us that Pakistan may be banned from International Cricket for a long time if the said allegations are proven right.

@mspr1nt has been active on twitter today trying to differentiate between fact and sensationalism. A lot of murky details are disgusting to say the least. I have collected a few of her tweets throughout the day in order to lend some perspective to this dark, dark day for professional sport. Feel free to comment on them, and get back to us on this blog, our twitter accounts, or the paddle sweep account on twitter or facebook.

Do continue reading to see all the tweets.

Here they are. Note that this post will be published at 2330 IST on 29th August.

Here we go, repeat of the Oval after we got justice for it. Now it’s at Lord’s. Ooh la la. Scandal.

This is why it’s a good thing Afridi does not captain them. I’m taking bets on whether or not Pakistan will come out to play tomorrow?

And this right after I complimented you so nicely, Test cricket. Fuck you crooked assholes. I’m gutted. Aamer? Really :( :(

@reina_sabah All over Skynews now. Esp the bit with the no balls. Comparing it to the Cronje saga. Sigh
about 20 hours ago

Apparently Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif delivering three blatant no-balls to order is just the tip of the iceberg… about 20 hours ago

I’m actually really upset. I had such high hopes for Aamer. Tainting my first love, not cool :(
about 20 hours ago

Even if it’s just those no balls it’s still wrong and upsetting. This is terrible.

I hope this is all bullshit. I really do. Otherwise I’m going to cry and be depressed for weeks.

HOW MUST I SLEEP NOW? I’m going to stay up all night following this!

@sanakazmi I can’t even imagine how you feel. I am not even a Pakistan supporter and I’m shocked.

Wow, such contrasting emotions. After my post hailing the game…now this. I need a drink.

What are those eight steps of accepting death? I’m in the anger stage now. Just hours ago I said Test cricket is why I live. Now this.

How can they allow play to continue today? Pakistan are not going to come out, if they do, how will the crowd react?

@mrtuckbox Not deliberating who deserves Test status and who doesn’t, saying this is tarnishing our sacred game in general. It’s sad

Exactly RT @venkatananth This isn’t just about Pakistan. They got caught. There are others who have gone scot free. It’s a reality. Wake up

Every man and his dog is yelling for Pakistan to be banned. Sigh. Was only a matter of time before the uninformed started spewing bile
about 7 hours ago

And sadly I am way too opinionated to not argue with those bile-spewing bigots. Save me.

@venkatananth I think the players involved should be banned. What will banning the whole entire team fix?

If reports are to be believed then some players were, indeed bullied into it. Please let little Aamer be one of those players. about 4 hours ago

Most heart-breaking out of all reactions has been the Mikey Holding one. I think him being so overcome sums up how many feel.
