ms dhoni puts his boxing gloves on

talk about unconventional ways of training for a game, Indian skipper MS Dhoni takes it to another level when it comes to glovemanship.

He actually trains as a boxer whenever he gets time. He does the same with his physical trainer Ramji Srinivasan. Now that I have given Srinivasan enough of a free plug, so I should move.

The problem being, at the moment there is nothing else to move on to. South Africa are workman-like in their approach to thwart the English hopes, and India have just made 279/9 in their 50 overs. Both the games will be dealt with after the end of play.

Back to MS Dhoni then. I feel he should spend more time in the nets trying to time the ball than in the rink working on his concentration and hand-eye crap. Come to think of it, I might be wrong. There are certainly some positives to be derived from the stint with the boxers.

If he wasn’t that successful otherwise, I would have bagged him till the cows came home. That not being the case, I would just sound an alarm that such news appears superficial to the average fan.

My personal tip to MSD would be to move up the order and knock out opponents instead of stooping down and hitting protective pads.

Actually, I don’t care anyways…
