Regular followers of this blog will know that we are all for supporting those less fortunate than us. With @mspr1nt being a huge fan of bowlers, she also quite likes ducks.
It’s no surprise, then, that the #igveaduck campaign is something that has us quite excited.
The underlying theme of the campaign is to tackle the serious issue of poverty with a fresh approach – giving poverty ‘the duck’, this is a campaign that will appeal to, and involve, the whole family.
A team of committed, enthusiastic and likeable duck men and women are going to be encouraging you to part with a R100 (about ten pounds). In return, you will get an individually numbered bath duck and a stylish bumper sticker.
Register your duck online to stand a chance to win one of the weekly draw prizes and to be entered into the final duck race on 27 November. As this flock of ducks is limited – you will need to hurry in order to avoid missing out.
I Give a Duck is for the whole family – get the kids painting their ducks, register online for the duck race, take your duck to unusual destinations and get e-ducking (blogging, tweeting and sending ‘quacky’ social media updates) and start packing those baskets for the Ducknick (the team”s version of a family picnic. ). I Give a Duck T-shirts, bumper stickers, caps, badges and visors will also be on sale.
The core values of this campaign are accountability and transparency – all funding received, whether it be through the sale of ducks or merchandise or through money raised from quacky challenges, will be recorded via the www. igiveaduck. com website.
All proceeds will be divided 50/50 between the two participating charities The Bobs for Good Foundation and Learn to Earn. The I Give a Duck website will serve as a monitoring and communication platform to keep you up-to-date with how much has been raised as well as how it will be used.
If any of our overseas readers are interested in sponsoring a duck can get in touch via feedback@paddlesweep.net and arrange a way to get your duck to you.
