Saurav Ganguly back as KKR skipper

Saurav Ganguly has developed a knack of defying all public opinion and make astonishing comebacks. This one cannot be categorised as a comeback though. After all, he was never quite out of reckoning. With the IPL-3 scheduled to be held in India, the Kolkatans would have surely smirked at a McCullum captaining their side with their prince riding the boundary.

So the news is finally out. Saurav Chandidas Ganguly has been reappointed captain of the Kolkata KnightRiders.

In another irrelevant piece of news, Dav Whatmore is the new coach of the Kolkata KnightRiders. There is little information about the chemistry between Whatmore and Ganguly, but knowing both of them, there is soon going to be some trouble brewing. Unless KKR win. As if that is going to happen.

Ganguly, when approached, said that he doesn’t want to say anything on this matter apart from “thank you Shah Rukh”.

I shall distance myself from this back-scratching, and take your leave for now.

I think Ganguly realises it's his last year in IPL. Remember, the initial 3- yr contract expires in 2010. So he would naturally be less abrasive. Whatmore, on the other hand, would be tentative enough not to assert himself too much. Besides, he surely has more sense than Buchanan. I won't be surprised if there is general bonhomie in KKR camp this season.

no, but really!! Does Ganguly have a remote control with him, for him? Thats the way he is, no matter what. IMHO, a coach is not needed for a fake tournament which lasts only 2 months and exists solely for money-making reasons. Yes, the players might play good cricket, but thats what they know, right?

Doesn't look like a step forward. Will be interesting to see what team combinations are used by Dada. Hopefully, egos are kept aside for the team's best interest !

dada will be the only leader for kkr becuse of his dedication towards cricket so according to me there are no other choice which is better than dada for kkr but i cant say if the rank is shifted to any other ,it only reflects that they have taken the chance
