Harbhajan Singh could be key to SA’s success

Harbhajan Singh is right up there on my list of my least favourite cricketer.  His face just screams: “hit me, please hit me I’m an asshole.”

He’s meant to be a bowler but he’s been doing stuff like this instead:

Let me just score back-to-back 100s to keep my place in the team

During the recent series against New Zealand Twatajhan has shown just how remarkably average he is at bowling.

The first Test saw him get stuck on a sexual innuendo in the first  innings when he notched up a very handy 69. He followed this up with a bowling spell for one for 112. One wicket, 112 runs.

Then, of course, in the second innings he scored more runs than he conceded to balance things out, of course. Twatajhan notched up his maiden ton when he struck 115. Dhoni thought it’d be better if he doesn’t bowl in the second innings, so Dhoni just bowled himself instead.

Fast forward to the second Test and he is finally in with a few sticks, taking four for 76 in the first innings and following it up with another batting ton.

Then, just to make sure he balances everything out, he takes one for 117 during his bowling spell.

That means he is now a ‘specialist’ bowler who’s done better with the bat on his home turf than he has with the ball. The word ‘all-rounder’ is being thrown around but that did come from Ravi Sashtri’s mouth, he was probably just choking on some regurgitated bullshit again.

It’s not secret that Harbhajan Singh has been a very average player for a very long time and, for somebody who has been involved in the game for such a long time, he really doesn’t have that wow factor. There are many rumours going around as to why he is still in the team, one of them being that he is very good friends with MS Dhoni (they might not even be rumours, they might be facts but I’m a Saffa  so I’d rather not take my chances).

Whatever the reasons are Twatajhan is keeping his spot in the team, I am grateful for them because come the December Test series against  India on our home turf, I want him to be here and I want our batsmen to absolutely rip him to shreds.

South Africa taking advantage of a weakened Indian bowling side will do a lot in their quest for victory and with Zaheer Khan more than likely to pick up an injury and Pragyan Ojha still vastly inexperienced, they have the perfect platform to do so.

Now they just need to learn to take 20 wickets and hold on to catches….

Let’s make a deal. Your boys ensure he goes wicketless throughout and in return we get to win the series.

That sounds like a shit idea to me. I’d rather have that Twat take ten sticks and score a ton in a match (Cape Town even) than lose the series to India.

the indian team has a lot of good batsmen who bowl part-time spin….unfortunately now, that extends to their bowlers as well!

He can’t bowl, he sure as hell ain’t gonna be able to bat in SA conditions either.
