The 200th Post

in General Sweeps

I cannot believe it. We are at where Sachin Tendulkar was a couple of weeks back. The 200th. Feels great. We would like to thank a few people for this achievement.

First of all, a nice thank you to Michael Clarke for reminding us that cricket blogging can be taken care of without indulging in gossip about a certain IPL denying personally troubled International cricketer.

Secondly, Thank you Test Match Sofa for rejuvenating the interest in blogging.

Thirdly, thank you random hippie on the road for commenting on my hind site. Made me feel nice.

Next, a HUGE thank you to Sachin Tendulkar for being Sachin Tendulkar and giving us something to write about in the middle of a pretty boring ODI series. We don’t quite like these ODI anyway.

Finally, and not in the least bit, let us all stand up and thank Mspr1nt, for making Paddle Sweep her home and lighting up with her….oh whatever the heck. We love you and we are glad you are here. Thank you.

Paddle Sweep Wrong’un #2

Guys, this is decision time. Kolkata play tomorrow in the first game of the DLF IPL 2010. Defending champions Deccan Chargers are their opponents.

KKR - Main Bhi CoachBefore the first ball is bowled, there are a lot of pressing questions a KKR Coach has to answer, and you are one. One of the most important of those questions is what you have to answer now.

WHICH FOREIGN PLAYERS SHOULD BE PLAYED IF A FULL STRENGTH SQUAD IS AVAILABLE

For the first game, there are a few players who would be unavailable, but we would ignore that as they will be available for most of the tournament. So here is the list from which you have to choose from.

Think wisely and choose carefully. You need 4 players. Who all are going to make the cut and why?

The list:

Charl Langeveldt, Brendon McCullum, Angelo Mathews, Chris Gayle, Owais Shah, Ajantha Mendis, Brad Hodge

The comments section is waiting for your replies. Here is something to keep in mind though. This discussion is open only to those of you who have registered at the KKR contest site here. Just mention your first name used in the registration before answering the question. To register, click on this paragraph. Its free, easy and takes less than 30 seconds. You can do that.

Next Wrong’Un would be on

Pre IPL Favourites

in IPL

The Interblogactic IPL Battle begins today. So does the IPL of course, but that is for another post. We had conducted a poll here at Paddle Sweep to determine the pre-tournament favorites, and the result is out.

Note that Sports Freak is no longer part of this competition. Rishabh from The Adventures of Billy the Worm has gleefully filled those boots for us.

As hoped, Paddle Sweep comes first, but not so far behind were Poshin’s World, All Padded Up and Thoughts from the Dustbin. This can serve as an indicator for the official popularity polls which will be active from the moment the first ball is bowled today.

Don’t miss out on the Interblogactic IPL Battle, a unique battle which pits the top blogs against each other as they fight to represent their favourite IPL teams. To know more, click here.

of spidercams, and being way cooler than avatar

January 23, 2010

If you are not satisfied with that, the same four games will also be kitted with take-it-anywhere-in-the-air spider cams. Add to this [...]

The times, they are a changing.
