The new cricket prophet @TheAshes

By now you all know about the latest internet meme  – an American girl with the Twitter handle @TheAshes. As mentioned, she has decided to play along and she is now sitting on more than 7000 followers.

Some Twits have been a bit nasty towards this more girl calling her names like ‘gold digger’ and ‘retard’ which is a bit silly. They’re all missing the point.

This girl is gold.

I’d mentioned in the previous post that she should be treated as such.

America is a country known for a lot of weird things. Especially their sports. Their sports are just awful. However, this girl holds the key to conquering America and converting them to the cricket gospel.

We should all tell her how important she is and just how much of a pivotal role she can play in converting Americans to the only religion that really matters: Test cricket.

If there ever was a time for cricket fans to stick together and embrace a Twitter personality it is now.

Noah did not know what to do when he was chosen.

Moses had a stutter and took so much acid he saw bushes burning.

Why can we not embrace an American girl who looks after vomiting toddlers and knitting?

We are no one in the eyes of the cricket gods. We should not judge who is chosen for they did not ask for the burden of being a cricket prophet. Let’s embrace this, brothers and sisters.

Together in cricket, Amen.

What does whether basketball/american football is ‘tougher and manlier’ than cricket have to do with anything?

I simply said she can convert Americans to the only religion that really matters….

American Football isn’t manly.

Basketball and Ice Hockey is.

But Cricket is the God of All sport. Period.

Americans will definitely go for it, coming from her. They love this sort of drama and reality TV-ish kind of stuff.

That’s what I’m hoping for – imagine that, a reality TV show about cricket!

I worship at the Church of Sachin, personally.

In reply to that comment about American sports being more manly and whatnot, what the hell does that have to do with anything? Granted, ice hockey, American football and basketball are more physical sports than cricket, however test cricket is more of test of endurance and mental strength.

Again, what the hell does this have to do with anything? “The Blogger” doesn’t like American sports, and its her God given right to exercise her opinion on sports.

Enough about the Ashes and Americans……back to SAFFA land and the UDRS. Why are the Indians so against this – too thick to use it I suspect….. and as usuall spineless CSA officials just go along with what the Injuns want. Lets hope it bites them big time and they get some shocking decisions going against them.

Like Sachin out LBW first ball to Dale Steyn, when there was clearly an inside edge?
That will teach them.

I initially thought she’d flee away from Twitter because of the bombardment, but it’s good to see she’s taking some interest in the game now. Cricket handles for all Americans, please.

And oh God, no UDRS for the SA-India series is just ridiculous. And then they’ll still call the umpires bad names.
