There is some sort of ICC awards thingy going on at the moment and I think some of the criteria is that you have to be a goody two-shoes to be nominated and, if you aren’t you have to be an Indian called Sachin Tendulkar. Of course, it doesn’t matter who you are, you won’t win unless you are Indian.
Being a non-Indian cricketer sucks because the number of votes your people give will never match the number of votes received from Indian voters. Basically, you do it for shits and giggles.
This brings me to the point of voting for Sulieman Benn. Why? Well, because he is never going to win to anyway and it would only be fair to have somebody most of us can relate to in the nominees.
Being a rebel is a very underrated role to play but Benn embodies a modern day rebel in so many different ways. Aside from the spin bowling, he also likes to argue and get into squabbles.Yes, how bad ass is that, the man is over 6ft tall and he is a bloody spin bowler! Not a fast bowler like all his other tall country men. A spin bowler, at 6ft!
