These are bad times to be a Kings XI Punjab owner. Very Bad Times. After reading today’s morning paper, it is somewhat clear that the problems began way before the first ball was bowled in IPL – 3.
According to the Times of India, Yuvraj Singh wanted to quit the team to go to greener pastures (or Bluer, as his main aim was the Mumbai Indians) before the season began (during the so called transfer window). He laid it all out for the owners to figure out.
The owners sat down and thought about it. They weighted the options wisely, never did Preity’s and Ness’ eyed did meet. Ness was worried that if Yuvraj leaves, the star power in the team would reduce. Add to that Yuvi’s ability to play cricket, and it looked like a lose situation.
On the other side of the table, Preity wondered what the fuss was all about.
Finally, it was decided that Yuvi cannot be allowed to leave. He was instructed to hand over his credit card and his memory was erased so he couldn’t remember the number either. Ness was feeling better and Preity was still wondering what was going on. Yuvi had no clue this meeting ever took place.
As an added precaution, Ness Wadia also went to the BCCI top dudes and informed them of Yuvi’s wishes. The BCCI dude gave yuvi a call, and asked for an autographed bat for his son. He also told Yuvi to try and not to underperform because then this news would be leaked and all hell would break loose.
And all hell has broken loose. Yuvi meanwhile is unperturbed. His last tweet was 10 minutes ago and it said:
Lots of great ‘April Fools Day’ messages from you all . Will send out 10 signed pics to the best lines.
W00T!

On a more serious note (actually, for the first time on a serious note):
The said article did come on the first page of TOI today, and it is certainly not an april fool’s joke from my side. And about Yuvraj, his tweets following the rage about this issue have gone like:
Am disgusted & horrified tht a news reporter can scoop down to such a level. I in all my career havn’t seen such a disgusting piece of news
To come out of injury is not easy and i’ve had 3 in a row and I hope to bounce back soon.
Who knows what the truth is? Actually, as long as it is off the field, I really don’t care. But Yuvi, if you are reading this, and I know you are, this blog believes your version the most. So go out there and show the people who feel you are underperforming. Just tweeting won’t do.
Cheers.
